![]() ![]() Even the QTE sound effects changed for something more soft and soothing. Personally, when I arrived at that section I felt a mixture of fulfillment, calmness, and "beauty" overabundance. There's even people who genuinely like the games (unlike you) but prefer the more action packed parts, and argue that Shenmue II should have ended with Kowloon. Of course you are not the only one that dislikes the game or this section. You’re assuming Shenmue 3 will have a new QTE system or is it confirmed? A fucking pink Square and a red Circle don’t look as different than a Yellow Y and a red B. And I guess it’s even worse on PS4 which, unlike the DC or XB1, it doesn’t use bright primary colors for the buttons. To know which button or direction was just from where it appears on screen instead of having to “read” the button prompt would save valuable milliseconds. Something as simple as that would’ve helped a lot in this HD Remasters. It’s all trial an error.ĭid you play God of War 3? In that game the developers made it so when the QTE is triangle the button appears on the upper part of the screen, if it’s Circle it’s righ, if it’s X it’s in the bottom and Sauare to the left. If you don’t have a walkthrough there is no way anyone can beat these on their first try. Doing them blind was the exact opposite of fun, but even when knowing what to press more often than not I’d fall at the first QTE because it would blind side me and even when I know what to press the fucking game gives you nothing but an instant to press the button. Maybe the most I’ve ever seen in any videogame yet. It’s so frustrating.Ĭlick to shrink. You’re assuming Shenmue 3 will have a new QTE system or is it confirmed?Īnd yes the QTEs are too unforgiving. It’ll get fucking evicerated by mainstream outlets. I’d like to see Shenmue 3 pull shit like this in 2019. Sometimes it’s game over at the first fail but i get to try again shortly afterwards and then there’s bullshit like this. Sometimes nothing will happen if I fail at one, sometimes it’s okay to fail twice. And this game barely gives me the milliseconds I need to press them! And it’s also so inconsistent. Even when I know they’re coming and what to push they’re so weird and don’t communicate when I can begin pressing them. These Command QTEs are so badly implemented. The slow pace, the awkward controls, I get them and there’s some charm to them but this is just fucking bad and punishing. So I just beat Don Nui on the roof of a building with the skin of my teeth in a long grueling Free Battle only for me to fail on the second of a set of command QTEs and the game kicks me back to the beginning of the free battle instead of trying again from the QTEs. Jesus Christ just when I was enjoying myself this game throws me endless bullshit at my way and makes me hate it for it.
